Travel documents checklist for Ghanaians flying abroad
Most airport problems start weeks before you get to the airport. Go through this list when you book.
The short answer
Check your passport's expiry date and condition when you book, because many countries want six months left on it. Then check your visa (and any transit visa), your yellow fever card, your Ghana Card and a return or onward ticket, and keep copies of them all. Declare cash above US$10,000.

Your visa
Check whether you need a visa for your destination, and for any country where you change planes. Some countries require a transit visa even if you never leave the airport. Use the destination country's embassy website, not an agent's summary, because rules change.
