Apple announced the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max on 9 September 2026, and they went on sale on 18 September. There is no standard iPhone 18 yet. Reports say it will come in 2027, but Apple has not announced it, so treat that as a rumour.
How close the two phones are
The iPhone 18 Pro is very close in size to the iPhone 17 Pro. MacRumors reported that the camera area on the back of the iPhone 18 Pro is about 11.5mm thick, compared with 11.4mm on the iPhone 17 Pro. The writer John Gruber tried cases on both phones and found that they fitted either way.
